Update

A quick note to let you all know that I am suddenly dealing with a consuming situation at home: my father was diagnosed with a terminal illness last week and has been hospitalized. Many unknowns at this point, and I will keep you posted about anything that might affect the course. But I am going to be slow getting your Wikipedia assignments back to you and you have a right to know why. I hope I won't have to cancel any classes as we have no wiggle room with presentations — we have one a week scheduled until the end of term — and I don't like to ask anyone to double up (if anyone is quite certain that their presentation/discussion will be on the short side and doesn't mind doubling up, let me know, just in case). But rest assured that the completion of the course will not be affected, whatever we may need to do to ensure that.

I'm so sorry for your news -- last academic year was filled with similar events for me and I understand the stress you must be under.

My seminar -- actual talking time by me -- will probably only last about 45 minutes, and should the need arise I would be more than willing to double up with someone else presenting a similarly short seminar. I have a lot of discussion I'm hoping for but that can always be taken to the blogs if things run overtime.

Best wishes to your family in a difficult time.

I wish you the best for your family, Miriam. My presentations tend to be on the long side, but we have a long class, too, and from what Brenna said, I would guess that mine could fit into the same class as hers if need be. I don't know if you will read this before class (it's 10:15am now), but do watch the driving on the way up from Saint John, as the going is fairly slippery (or "slippy" as they say in PEI).

Sorry, Mirriam to hear your bad news. Let me offer whatever support one can at a time like this.
